It has been a while

I have to apologize for not writing our blog in the past like 5 month ... Very sorry!

I am going to blog a brief entry about what we did the past 5 month (I will keep myself short)

We took my Mom to Paris the first weekend in April. She has never been outside of the country of Germany and since she was home alone for Easter we thought we give her a trip to the city of Love :-). It was my first trip ever to Paris. I loved it and since we are used to the European system of Museum and attraction tickets we always found a great deal.

I got my wisdom teeth pulled out April 14th - I took Sean with me, more as a support that as a photographer, well I end up having a photo of me with the two teeth they pulled out. I am pain-free now since they wont push my other teeth together.

Good-bye Wisdom Teeth ...

One last visit to Munich, we had a great time since we also visited some of the sight and the Spring-Beer-Fest and oh yeah we enjoyed the german beer. We also visited the biggest Flea-market I have ever seen. Finally I can say that we have seen the city as tourists since when ever we went to Munich is was either business trip from Sean or just a drive-thru. This is a city we consider to live in at some point :-)

I miss that beer so much.

We also visited the Concentration Camp "Dachau" - which was my very first time.

"Arbeit macht frei" - "Work gives you freedom" ....

Of course we had the Spring-Beer-Fest in Stuttgart too. We went there with a couple of friends on April 24th. It has been the third Spring Fest Sean and me attended. This time I went crazy on the rides 0 and of course got sick from it. The Stuttgart Beer Fest is the biggest Spring Fest we have in Germany and it is only a metro ride away.

We love the german beer fest ...

And before we moved to the States we enjoyed many many walks through out the city of Stuttgart, the forrest, vineyards and downtown. Oh we love Germany so much :-). The fact that you can take such long walks right in front of your door steps will make us miss Germany/ Europe more than we can think. You can easily walk for many hours (we usually took about 5 hour long trips)

Typical downtown apartment houses in Stuttgart ...

May 2nd - May 6ht we enjoyed our last big trip in Europe. We flew to Athens, Greece to meet Nathan and Jen there and enjoy a couples vacation. This trip was a great trip with lots of history and good food. We were there during the big riots and demonstrations - but no one from us got hurt. We did not only visit Athens, we also took a long bus ride to see Olympia - where we saw the place of the first Olympic games and of course how it was back then. We stayed in an awesome hotel (we got upgraded since our hostel went broke) ...

Me & Sean in Olympia, Greece ...

I got to see my Grandma one last time before we moved to the States - I will miss her very much. During the 5 month I have not written my blog great things happened. My Mom and my Grandma (her Mom) finally got in touch with each other after 8 years of silence. I am so happy :-)
Grandma Rosel and me...

We moved stateside May 15th. Now I am officially a Legal Permanent Resident of the United States of America for the next 10 years, at least. We enjoyed a couple of wonderful days with Sean's Mom in Dallas. We visited the Botanic Garden, Fort Worth, and of course J.T Garcia :-)

Visiting the botanic garden ...

And we got to celebrate our Birthday together (Sean's is on the 22nd May and mine is 14th June)... we spend a couple of days in Beaumont with Sean's Memaw and Papaw.

"Happy Birthday"

Driving towards Fort Bliss (our new home for the next 1.5 years) - we stopped at Fort Davis and went for hikes and enjoyed our first weekend alone without family in Texas. I loved Fort Davis.

Sean did not shave for about 5 weeks :-)

After a sand-storm ... this is the sunset...

Me enjoying the mountain view...

Our new place to live in while we live in El Paso :-)

Our first hikes and explorations in El Paso ...

Watching the german team during the soccer world cup 2010 in El Paso on base (Fort Bliss) at the October Fest Halle (sponsored by the german military stationed there) ...

I took the basic rider course (in June) and passed with a "0" - yeahhh

Visiting Dallas again for more soccer games and the 4th of July with Sarah and Sheila ..

Us being silly on the 4th of July ...

I hope this gives you a brief over view on what we did the past couple of months. I will keep writing more often as soon as I am back in El Paso (I am in Virginia right now).

Love

Susann
